25 families took shelter in the multi-purpose room of CSC Happy Homes (you can read more about Happy Homes here). These families all came from portions of Lawaan 3 (the same barangay as Happy Homes) that are near the Mananga River; families whose homes were completely flooded when Typhoon Tino hit. Thanks to the efforts of Maribel, Pastor Fred, and others who live at happy homes, these families were cared for and ministered to.

On the morning of Tuesday, November 4th at around 5am, Typhoon Tino roared through the middle of the Philippines. At the time of writing (the evening of November 5th), there have been 92 fatalities recorded so far in the Visayas Region, over 70 of which came from the Province of Cebu.

Just last week, our first batch of residents moved-in to Hope House: 20 children who are adjusting to their rooms ahead of the start of the new school year. Under cloudy skies and intermittent claps of thunder, residents and houseparents alike carried boxes, assembled beds, dusted shelves and wardrobes, and started settling into something new on so many levels.
